52 of 2014 - Week 09
Theme is Oh, the Places You Will Go - I'm not much of a traveler, but we get to our backyard, from time to time. This shot didn't turn out quite as well as it could have, but I love the little snowman and snowmouse so much, I have to use it.

52 of 2014 - Week 08
52 of 2014 - Week 08
Theme is Motion Blur Photography. No motion blur. I had some shots of the late February snow falling (the week before we only needed a hoodie to play in the park), but I liked this shot better. I may be slightly biased on my likes though.

52 of 2013 - Week 1
52 of 2013 - Week 1. Last year, I did a daily photo challenge with Picaboo, on Facebook. They have a new challenge this year, but it's weekly, which suits me, because the daily thing was too much and I found my hobby becoming a chore. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Glitter'. My photo buddies from 2012 started a group called 'Focus 52 - Pixel Project' and the theme there is 'Newness + Watch Your Background'. I suspect I'll try and merge the two themes through this year. This is a little snowman snow globe that is at my mother's house. I love this thing! The 'snow' is all glittery and it's so pretty! I had bought a couple of them a few years ago and hers didn't work properly, so we gave her ours. It's one of my favorite Christmas decorations and I can't think of a better place for it to be, than in my parents' wonderful home. They made Christmas magical for me and continue to do it for my daughter. The reason I love Christmas is because of my amazing parents.

366 of 2012 - Day 357
366 of 2012 - Day 357. Walking to school in the snow. I took this a couple of days ago. As you may know, I take this 'photo a day' rule rather loosely.

366 of 2012 - Day 18
366 of 2012 - Day 18. No more cell phone food pictures. I did two. I'm done. It's snowing today. And it's wickedly cold! I'm talking relatively here, since it doesn't generally get very COLD in the lower mainland of BC. We're expected to break records today (for our area) in terms of temperature. It's expected to get anywhere from -15C to -20C with the wind chill (that's nearing 0F for your Fahrenheit inclined).
This shot was taken just outside my front door as the snow was starting today. It's a SOOC shot (straight out of the camera), with adjustments only to size and adding text, which I do in Photoshop.
Shot with my Canon PowerShot G12, on Auto - f/2.8, 1/30 sec., ISO-200, 6mm, max aperture 2.96875, pattern metering, no flash.
