Theme is Oh, the Places You Will Go - I'm not much of a traveler, but we get to our backyard, from time to time.  This shot didn't turn out quite as well as it could have, but I love the little snowman and snowmouse so much, I have to use it.

Theme is Motion Blur Photography. No motion blur. I had some shots of the late February snow falling (the week before we only needed a hoodie to play in the park), but I liked this shot better.  I may be slightly biased on my likes though.

52 of 2013 - Week 48. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Photographing Friends and Family During the Holidays'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Words Words Words'. This is part of my father's collection of 'neat stuff'. It's an arrowhead that his brother or a cousin or someone found when they were kids, in Ontario. Goodness only knows how old this thing is! Can you imagine the history in this one item? Who made it? How old were they? What was their life like? Did they succeed in the hunt with this arrow head? How was it abandoned?

52 of 2013 - Week 47. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'How to Group Your Photographs'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Alphabet Soup'. I didn't follow either theme, really. My father put this little car together for his model train set. It is so tiny. I remember him making it and being enchanted by it. I must have been 8, or younger. My dad gave it to me, several weeks ago, surprised that I wanted it. It means a great deal to me, not because of what it is, but because of who he is. I have such amazing childhood memories. I'm so thankful for having wonderful parents who gave me a fantastic childhood.

52 of 2013 - Week 45. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'What to Wear for Photos'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Halloween Illuminations'. I posted Halloween shots last week. So here is something a little different. As I understand it (which isn't saying much), this is a diya or divaa that my daughter was given at school. It's a little clay pot that is used in Hindu, Sikh, Jain and Zoroastrian religious festivals such as Diwali, which is a festival of lights, usually around Halloween. The lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil is used to signify the triumph of good over evil. Though we do not celebrate Diwali, we live in a city where are large number of the population does celebrate, so my daughter was learning about the celebration in school. Rather than ignore all religious and cultural ceremonies, our school leans towards teaching a bit about those celebrated by our students. It's pretty awesome!

My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Fun With Signs'.  Signs.  The SLOW dude is a sign, technically.  Right?  I liked the shot with the shadow, but the husband said he liked the close up better.  I blew out all the colors in everything, but you wanted signs, you got 'em.  I used the shot for indoor photography a few weeks ago.  Because I'm a rebel.

My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'HDR Photography'.  Nothing says Autumn like a bunch o' pretty tree leaves.  And I'm lucky, I get a variety all in one tree!  HDR - you can do that with macro photography, right?  I dunno.  Made the diamonds pop like crazy.  Not bad for a ring I've worn for so many years!

52 of 2013 - Week 36. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'A-Z Photography'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Capturing Smooth Water'. The pool looks like the letter O and the water in the pool is, momentarily, smooth. Yup, winner.  Plus, the Charlie's Angels pose is just too awesome.  Weeb and her cousins were trying to 'water gun' the windows in the house next door.  They were careful not to shoot the electrical wires above (like they even could).  Wouldn't the neighbors have been overjoyed if they could reach the windows they WERE aiming for.  Sometimes the fun is in the mischief, and not necessarily in the success of the plan.

52 of 2013 - Week 30. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Spot Metering'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Filling the Frame'. I didn't take this shot in July. I think it was September or October. I rock the deadlines! Actually, I think I used this photo for Taking Better Photos Indoors, which will show up in several weeks. Ah well, I don't care. It fills the frame and used some kind of metering, so I'm using it. It's a crystal glass full of ice water, lit from behind by a window on a mostly cloudy day.

52 of 2013 - Week 27. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Photographing Color: Red, White and Blue'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'National Pride'.  The first shot is of a Maple Leaf pin - you can get these in any tourist area in Canada.  My husband got this particular one when he was sworn in as a Canadian Citizen, last autumn. Next are some shots of my Weeb.  The bottom two shots were taken at a Canada Day festival, from the top of a Ferris Wheel, with my iPhone.  I couldn't see what I was photographing as the sun glare was blinding.  They turned out pretty well.  And it occurred to me a tad too late that, oh yeah, I don't like Ferris Wheels.  We wore Canada Day shirts and ponytails with maple leafs on them to celebrate the day.  We had some blue cotton candy as a tribute to the blue part of the red, white and blue to honor our southern neighbors in the USA.  Today though, it's all red and white for us!  O Canada, we party at an outdoor fair on the hottest day of the year for thee!
