I love Friday nights.
Friday night is Slurpee/Movie Night in our house. We get take out, get Slurpees and find a movie that we would like (or in some cases just wouldn't hate) to watch with a wiggly four year old. We snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and get down with our Friday night selves.
The bedtime rules are not quite as strict on Friday nights. It's the only night of the week that I leave the kitchen a mess. I don't have to prepare any lunches for the next day. The entire weekend is stretched out before us. The rush of time seems to slow down for just a little while.
Friday nights are glorious.
And they are even better with a Slurpee.
(Please note that Slurpees can be purchased by flavor or color, but flavor and color are not the same thing.)
(Please also note that the offspring in the above picture did not drink that entire Slurpee, nor do we buy them for her at this size.)
(Please note I meant the Slurpee size, not the child size.)

You never fail to make me laugh! Loved the (N)new driver post. I wish they marked new drivers that way here!

Uh, yes. In the slurpee world, the appropriate way to refer to how they taste is by their color. (No "U" in "color").
ReplyDeleteBesides, there is NO such thing as Rad Razzleberry Blue in the entire world. It is a far superior practice to refer to something that actually exists and is understood by all than to refer to it by some lame marketing scheme. That is all. *hee*
Color is not flavor, U included, or otherwise.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the simple minded best refer to their favorite Slurpee by color, but that would be unfortunate to those who prefer Coke flavoring to Pepsi or Root-beer. Plus, who wants to say they want a BROWN Slurpee (which are the best, incidentally)?
And what of the overachieving 7-11's out there who offer Cherry and Fruit Punch Gatorade - both red. How confusing to the Slurpee n00bs out there who STILL insist that the glorious beverage is to be ordered by color rather than flavor or Brand (which I suppose is even more accurate).
But we ARE dealing with a multitude of Slurpee loving (though not properly Slurpee educated) Americans, many of whom still refer to ANY carbonated beverage as Coke. How's that for a marketing scheme? No lameness there. Well done, Coke!
Well I'm off to have a Coke Slurpee, which is harder and harder to find these days, as Pepsi seems to have taken over the Slurpee control in Canadian 7-11's. I'll make sure to educate any confused individual standing beside me pondering on whether to get the 'brown' Slurpee or the 'other brown' Slurpee.
*grin*
I like Pepsi...not Coke so you are a lucky Canadian to be overtaken by the Pepsi machine...Coke, I am so over you.
