52 of 2013 - Week 13
52 of 2013 - Week 13. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'What to Think About Before You Click'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Including Clouds in Your Landscapes'. The first shot is of a beta that we were fish-sitting. The color in this fish is spectacular! I'm bummed that I didn't notice the smudge on the glass until I was editing the shot after he'd gone home. The second shot isn't much of a landscape, but Weeb thought the cloud looked like a bunny with its ears back, so I snapped a photo (we didn't have clouds on any other day this week).
Taken with my Canon PowerShot G12 (the fancy point and shoot), edited with Photoshop and PicMonkey.

52 of 2013 - Week 12
52 of 2013 - Week 12. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Capturing the Rainbow - How To Get the Best Color in Your Photos'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Zoom By Foot vs. By Lens'. Everyone has a monkey tree in their backyard, right? I'm surprised how different the shot looks when the object is shot close up, rather than zoomed in by lens, from a few feet away. The colorful object is one of Weeb's toys. Wasn't feeling 'it', this week.

52 of 2013 - Week 11
52 of 2013 - Week 11. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Dawn Photography'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Back Lit Still Life'. I'd been trying to get a good shot of my geode slice for some time, but couldn't get it to work. This sucker is SUPER reflective - almost mirror like! Back lit photography worked well for the project though. I didn't get the photos as sharply focused as I would have liked, unfortunately. I'm working on it. As for dawn photography, it's been rainy and I've been sick and this shot of Weeb nibbling on the Eggo Minis that she persuaded me to buy for her is as close to dawn photography as I'm going to get for a while.

52 of 2013 - Week 10
52 of 2013 - Week 10. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Pinhole Photography'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Diptych or Triptych Photography'. I had no desire to make a pinhole camera, though it seems quite easy, so I found a Photoshop edit that would work. There is a fantastic tutorial, here. The snowdrops photo was edited in March, but the photo was taken in February. There is a post of the original, in a previous post. The photo of the boats was also edited in March, but was taken in January - I hadn't intended to use the photo at all, but it seemed to work well after the edit. The first shot is a diptych of Monster High vs. Barbie.

52 of 2013 - Week 9
52 of 2013 - Week 9. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Green'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Architecture and the Golden Spiral'. When I was around 5, my father made a doll house for me. He painted it green, which was my favorite color, as a child. We had this bright green paint that he used for a lot of things he made for us. I love that bright green color, mostly because it reminds me of an amazing childhood. My mother kept the doll house for over 35 years, just in case she had a granddaughter. My daughter is 7 now and has been playing with it for several years. It is a beautiful doll house that I will very likely keep, as my mother did, just in case.
