52 of 2013 - Week 22

52 of 2013 - Week 22. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Food Photography'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Wrinkles'. As usual, I'm not quite sticking with the theme, but I'm close. Popcorn kernels are almost food, soon-to-be food. As for wrinkles, the 2nd photo shows cracks (cracks are almost wrinkles) in the paint on this Pink Panther on Velvet painting. This used to belong to my parents, and I ended up with it. I've tried to research a bit about it, but all I can find is that they were typically done by street artists in Mexico in the late 1960's, early 1970's. I've seen various similar paintings on Google and eBay, and though the picture is painted of the same object (Pink Panther smoking long cigarette, moon in the sky, weird palm trees, etc.), they are obviously painted by different hands. It's a very cool art piece, none the less.

52 of 2013 - Week 21

52 of 2013 - Week 21 (May 18). Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Capturing Milestones'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Self Photography'.  Not a lot of milestones just yet.  And I'm still not feeling terribly social.  The photography has been mostly ignored the past few weeks.  So this will have to do.  I pulled out the camera.  Milestone.  Ta da!

52 of 2013 - Week 20

52 of 2013 - Week 20. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Getting in Front of the Camera – How to Look Your Best in Photos'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Windows & Doors'.  I think it's fairly easy to tell which is which, here.  And yeah, a door knob isn't technically a door or window.  But it's close.  So there it is.

52 of 2013 - Week 19

52 of 2013 - Week 19. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Capturing Opposites'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Photo Make-Over'.

Taken with my Canon PowerShot G12 (the fancy point and shoot), edited with Photoshop and PicMonkey.

I tried to manage both themes with one picture.  The shapes represent opposites, with the flat and the round.  The photo was cropped, sharpened and made a bit darker.  Sadly, I can't decide if I like the unedited version better.  This tree is in our backyard.  I still don't know what it is.  You know, other than being a tree.

Oh wait, I did do a photo make over!

52 of 2013 - Week 18

52 of 2013 - Week 18. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'How To Bust Out of a Photography Rut'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is '10 Shots, One Subject'. My girl. I wanted to do this with a bunch of different subject, this week, but I just didn't have the time or energy, and Weeb made it VERY clear that I was going to be using HER as my subject. Or else. I'm being 'or elsed' by a 7 y/o!
