Theme is Silhouettes. Or, you know, a Zamboni.

52 of 2014 - Week 10

52 of 2014 - Week 10

Theme is Time Goes On and On. And that has nothing to do with this horribly grainy photo, but my kid was skating and it was the best shot that I got from my point and shoot from a mile away, behind glass that has seen many hockey pucks.

52 of 2013 - Week 30

52 of 2013 - Week 30. Picaboo's theme for the week is 'Spot Metering'. My Focus 52 - Pixel Project theme is 'Filling the Frame'. I didn't take this shot in July. I think it was September or October. I rock the deadlines! Actually, I think I used this photo for Taking Better Photos Indoors, which will show up in several weeks. Ah well, I don't care. It fills the frame and used some kind of metering, so I'm using it. It's a crystal glass full of ice water, lit from behind by a window on a mostly cloudy day.

Taken with my Canon PowerShot G12 (the fancy point and shoot), edited with Photoshop and PicMonkey.

366 of 2012 - Day 20

366 of 2012 - Day 20. Our arctic weather warning is coming to an end, but not before a bit more snow (we haven't really had that much), and some freezing rain. We don't typically get temperatures so cold, so we, in Metro Vancouver, are not used to the ice. Icicles are rare. I was surprised to see them on the complex lamps this morning.

Picture below taken with Canon PowerShot G12 (on Auto), f/4, 1/50 sec., ISO-80, 6mm focal length, max aperture 2.96875, pattern metering, no flash. Levels adjusted, Unsharp Mask and High Pass Filter applied in Photoshop while I cropped and added text.

ICE ICE YASHER

Still grumpy and not in a bloggy mood. Still haven't figure out how to use my month old new camera.

I took this picture of some ice cubes a while ago. Then I over sharpened it and went crazy with a high pass filter and added a photo filter. Because I was bored. And ice amuses me.

This looks way cooler when not reduced to 72 ppi, but what are ya gonna do?
